Steemmonsters started raising the first round of funding yesterday, and it seems that they almost met their goal of USD 100K already.
I’ve spent a day considering this opportunity, and finally decided to put some money.
It wasn’t based on “traditional” valuation tools that I usually use. Rather, it was based on FOMO.
I didn’t buy Amazon while I was using its service every day,
I didn’t buy Activision Blizzard while I loved playing its games (startcraft, warcraft 3, world of warcraft, hearthstone…)
I didn’t buy Netflix while I loved its contents curating.
So this time, I didn’t want to miss a chance to put my money where my mouth is (and where my passion is).
Glad that at least for now, I may take a complete loss on this investment without any real impact on my daily life.
Hope with this successful fundraising Steemmonsters expedite its roadmap and … shoot for the moon!
스몬측에서 십만 달러를 목표로 첫 펀드레이징을 어제 시작했고, 빠르게 돈이 모이고 있습니다. 제가 방금 참여한 것까지 해서 8만 5천불이 모였다고 합니다.
고민을 좀 했는데, 결국 질렀네요.
사실 이런저런 수치들을 고려하면, 이게 일반적인 주식투자로 생각할 때는 거의 그냥 로또 노리는 투기 수준이거든요. 제일 좋게 말해야 벤처기업 엔젤투자?
그런데도 참여하게 된 건, 미국 생활하면서 놓쳤던 아픈 경험들 때문입니다.
아마존 서비스를 그렇게 칭찬하고 이용하면서도 당장 이익 안난다고 아마존 주식 안샀고…
블리자드 게임들 그렇게 좋아하고 많이 했으면서도 (스타, 워3, 하스스톤, …) 액티비전 주식 안샀고…
멍하니 넷플릭스 주말 내내 본 경험이 있으면서도 주식 안샀고…
그래서 투자해봤습니다. 당장 없어도 되는 액수이기도 했고, 내가 이렇게 즐겨 하는 게임인데 한번 투자해볼만 하지 않을까 해서요.
이젠 진짜 빼박이네요. 스몬 가즈아!
- 업데이트: 이 글을 쓰고 한시간 정도 후인 한국시간 3/27 새벽 한시반쯤 펀드레이징 마감. 자고 일어나서 아침에 할까 했으면 놓쳐서 아쉬울 뻔 했네요.
